                              "My Supports"

The word support to me means giving and helping a person to overcome challenges and obstacles, never expecting anything in return, bu just basking in the joy that you made a differences in some one elses life, waiting for the unexpected to happen for you one day.

" In the end everything will be okay. If it's not okay, it's not the end yet
                                                                          Ferando Sabino

I would like to share some of the factors I feel that are supportive in my daily environment.
1. The environment itself, which includes my surroundings, my family, the neighborhood in which I live, my job, and all my life experiences which I encounter everyday.

2. My physical environment which includes staying healthy and stress free. My social environment which includes my family, and other people who I come into contact with .

3. My culture beliefs, my attitude, and behavior all also part of the factors in my environment. The old saying do unto others as you would have them to do unto you, for me is true. I try to always have a positive outlook on life, and to try to be supportive of others. The little things in life makes me happy; Keeping my grandbaby brings joy, talking to my children about their day, ot just giving a smile to someone just because I felt that they needed it.

"When you get into a tight place and everyhing goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn". ~Harriett Beecher Stowe.
The benefits for me in having people who support me is something I never want to lose. I can say I need support in every thing I do and need to accomplish. My husband is the best support system in my life. He always give encourgement and advice when I feel I am at the last rope, and it gets hard to climb farther and fartther up the ladder. On my job I need support from my co-workers. Working with children on a daily basis is hard sometimes. When it seems as though you have done all that you can do to make a difference, there is always that ram in hte bush, that someone who comes along and gives that missing piece of the puzzle that you need. Support is very important to me. I feel that as long as we live we all need someone to support us, and we need to support others.

Some of the challenges I feel that I would encounter in life without daily support, especially as part of my environment is, I would just be a wonder, How to do things? What if's? and If I had done it this way, would it have been better?. So, challenges I feel makes us stronger, and more capable of taking on the next challenge.  I often reflect back on a statement I read one Sunday that was listed on a church program.

The longer I live the more convinced I become that life is 105 what happens to us and 905 how we responds to it".~Charles R. Swindroll
Support is a neccesity, and a component of life; without it could we survive? Think about it.

My Connections to Play

Two Quotes that represented me in childhood:

It is a happy talent to know how to play
                                         Ralph Waldo Emerson

Always jump in the puddles! Always skip along side the flowers. The only fights worth fighting are the pillow and food varieties.
                                   Terri Guillemets

Play was a enjoyable event during my childhood. I loved my friends as playmates. I was so excited to get back to school to play with them. We had so much fun during recess. The only thing we had to play with on the playgrounds were a swing set. I can recall how we use to push one another. I can also recall how we made up our own games to play, we had so much fun. My best friend or playmate outside of school was name Onie. I used to walk to her house, and we would play with her dolls, and I think she had a doll house.People during my days felt that play was an important activity for children, if was thought of that children are suppose to play. I think this is why play is so important for me today, I love to see children playing and having fun doing it.

Play today is somewhat similar to day to when I was growing up.  There are some children  who love to play, and there are those who don't  I am yet to figure out the reason. I don't know if is from fear, or the way children are being brought up in families today. During my days teaching in Pre-K, there was always those who could not wait until recess time, and then I had those who only wanted to sit with the adults and not engage in play.

My thoughts regarding the role of play throughout childhood and adulthood comes from a quote I found:

I am often accused of being childish I prefer to interpret that as child-like. I still get wildly enthusiastic about little things. I tend to exaggerate and fantasize .and embellish about little things. I still listen to instinctual urges. I play with leaves. I skip down the street and run against the wind. I never water my garden without soaking myself. It has been after such times of joy that I have achieved my greatest creativity and produced my work...............
